I’ve saved the best for last! This simply stunning tulip was one of the bulbs I bought when I visited Amsterdam last summer. I planted it a bit late, January to be precise, when it was still very cold, and hoped that something would grow. And it has!
It’s called ‘Orange Parrot’ , isn’t it beautiful?! It reminds me of a Chinese dragon, the red and orange ruffled petals are so vibrant and richly coloured. I think this might be my tulip of the year!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing some of the beautiful tulips in the garden, they have brightened these last weeks, and I’ve looked forward to going outside each morning to see how they are faring.
All photos were taken using my iPhone.
2013 was an interesting year for travelling, both in the UK and abroad, both for business and pleasure. I’ve included Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Newcastle, Amsterdam and Bregenz in this collage.

One of the nicest things to do in Amsterdam is take a canal cruise. One can see the tall, elegant canal houses
and house boats
and see places you want to visit.and the panorama of the city
